This is our 6^th year carrying out Shared Education with Killyhommon Primary School with St. Patricks Primary School joining our partnership last year.  We are carrying out Shared Education this year in the Autumn term with the focus of ‘Outdoor learning’.  Programmes will be carried out in Primary 1 and 2, Primary 3 and 4 and Primary 5 and 6.  Each programme will be planned and taught by the class teachers from all 3 schools working collaboratively together.  The children from Primary 1 – 6 will have the opportunity to take part in a ‘fun’ day together to make and renew friendships with the children from Killyhommon Primary School and St. Patricks Primary School before beginning our programme of work in outdoor learning.

We had a fantastic conclusion to

our P5/6 Shared Education Programme on Thursday 20th October. The sun shone all day and the children had a super time. We look forward to seeing our friends from St.Patrick’s and Killyhommon again soon.

Another great day of outdoor learning for P5 and P6. Group 2 at Oakwood Bushcraft and Groups 1 and 3 at Ely Lodge. Children had fun identifying tree types and their leaves before creating collages then enjoyed making paper boats and testing their floating properties on Lough Erne. After all that hard work the children were rewarded with making s’mores around the campfire. The rain didn’t dampen our spirits or enthusiasm for learning together.

This week Primary 3 and 4 went to Ely Lodge and Oakwood Forest.  Our pupils along with our friends in St. Patricks PS and Killyhommon PS took part in activities in our local outdoor environment.  We took part in den building which involved a lot of teamwork from all, we made ‘natural’ paintbrushes, explored the forest and ended our day with ‘fire lighting’ to make some delicious smores for everyone.

Primary 3 and 4 enjoyed taking part in outdoor learning in Lough Navar and Oakwood Forest.  They made name tags, outdoor pictures, mud faces and did lots of exploring in the beautiful forest of Lough Navar.

P1/2 had a great day out with their shared education friends at the Marble Arch Caves. They learnt about pollination, native wildlife and how the caves were accessed in the past. Finally they had a lovely walk around the fairy trail. 

P1/2 enjoyed their Autumn walk at Florence Court. Although it was wet, they didn't complain and they also really loved the scarecrow craft! 

P1/2 had their final Shared Ed day at Fermanagh Fun Farm. It was a jam packed day but lots of fun was had - sword decorating, pumpkin carving, a ride on the ghost train and feeding and nursing lots of animals.
